Ford Pickup Truck and SUV Instrument Cluster Removal Procedures

1999 Ford F150The time will come sooner or later that you may need to remove the instrument cluster in your 1997 through 2003 Ford F-series pickup (F150 or F250), or in your 1998 through 2002 Ford Expedition or Lincoln Navigator.  If you have never removed your instrument cluster before, it can be a real challenge to remove the cluster without damaging it or some other expensive component because of not knowing the secrets that have been cleverly engineered into some of the components in your vehicle.

1999 Ford Expedition We realize that thousands of do-it-yourself auto technicians are searching the Internet every month for instrument cluster removal procedures. As you have probably already seen, most repair manuals try to cover every possible repair you might ever need to do on your vehicle. Unfortunately, trying to cover everything in one manual which means they have to be as brief as possible and can only hit the high points for each procedure. In order to do this, they leave out a lot of the details and simply assume that we all know the twelve sub-steps necessary to "remove Component A".  Lots of repair manuals also tell you to remove a dozen things that do not need to be removed, resulting in a lot of extra (unnecessary) work and more opportunities to screw something up..

We know that most people are looking for repair procedures that include a lot more details -- procedures with large full-color photographs and which have you to remove or disconnect only that which is absolutely necessary. Knowing this, we decided to help fill this gap and are currently developing a series of "Fix It Yourself" repair manuals. Each manual covers only one specific repair. Each manual is devoted entirely to the one repair that is most important to you at the moment -- THE ONE repair that you are trying to do RIGHT NOW. That repair is covered in more detail and explanations than you will find anyplace else.

After all, which is more important to you -- the repair procedure you are trying to do right now.....or the other 30 or 40 procedures in your repair manual that have nothing to do with your current problem and are therefore of no benefit to you for the particular problem you are trying to fix today? Of course, the most important is the one repair procedure that you need in order to fix the problem that you have today.

What REALLY Needs to be Removed?

For example, do you know exactly which trim pieces and components need to be removed in order to remove your instrument cluster? How is each piece fastened to your vehicle? Do you know exactly which screws and bolts to remove and what components must be removed in order to find some of those hidden bolts and screws?Headlight Switch Module Removal Can you do it safely without causing expensive damage to your vehicle?

Do You Know the Secret?

One of the things you must remove in order to remove your instrument cluster is the headlight switch and dimmer module. This is a very cleverly designed component that is very difficult to remove unless you know the "secret combination" the Ford Engineers so cleverly designed into this module. You could spend hours trying to remove this component, only to end up breaking it in frustration. (Which means that you just needlessly bought a component that costs $120 - $200!)

It takes less than 30 seconds to safely remove the headlight switch module if you know the secret. Our manual reveals this amazing little secret, and while others are breaking their headlight modules and spending hundreds to replace them, our clients are practically jumping for joy as they tell us that this information alone is more than worth the price of the manual!

Don't Risk It!

You paid good money for your vehicle and you've worked hard to maintain it. Don't risk breaking expensive components just to avoid spending pocket change on a unique manual that will show you  in vivid step-by-step detail exactly how to do it correctly.
